What is xeriscaping, and does it work in my HOA community?
Xeriscaping uses drought-tolerant, often native plants to cut down on water use — a smart option given Colorado's semi-arid climate and rising water restrictions. Colorado law (C.R.S. § 37-60-126) protects homeowners' right to install xeriscaping even in HOA communities, though most HOAs still require a design review before you start.
